‘I can’t breathe’
My heart broke as I watched the video of George Floyd’s death. The senseless killing of an unarmed black man while handcuffed and pinned to the ground by a Minneapolis police officer, echoes long-standing racial intolerances that are pervasive in our society. Widespread acts of violence, misinformation, racial stereotyping, and fear have spread across the nation because of this hate fueled pandemic.
Our principles are clear– PsyGenics condemns racial discrimination of any kind! Now, more than ever, it is important that you talk to one another. I implore you all to continue having the uncomfortable conversations as they are often a gateway to complex solutions.
I do not have all the answers, but I know change starts with us. Through our actions, we will continue to define who we are. Our foundation is people– we will continue to treat every person, with respect and dignity, every day. One of the toughest experiences is to walk in another’s shoes. We will be tough. We will always celebrate, support, and thrive on diversity!
We stand with our black colleagues, consumers, families, and communities. It is our forever attestation to build bridges, not walls.
